Kaya Chakrabortty
Some memories and ideas are important, so I’m writing them down.

My name is Kaya Chakrabortty, and this blog is my way of capturing pieces of a life I’ve been grateful to live. I’ve always believed that stories carry light. And even if my time in this world is quieting, I want to leave behind some of that light, in memories, in reflections, in honesty.
Here, you’ll find stories: from my childhood to the chapters that shaped me. Stories about the people I’ve met, the lessons I’ve learned, and the realizations that come when the world slows down. This isn’t just a place to look back, it’s a space for connection, a voice for those who may feel alone, and a reminder that kindness still exists, even in places you wouldn’t expect.

I was born into a family I truly treasure — loving, strong, welcoming, and full of spirit. My father is someone I admire with all my heart, and not a day goes by that I’m not thankful to have been raised in the warmth of our home. I find joy in the simplest things: cooking meals from every corner of the world, spending time with my three beloved dogs — Tsuki, Toro, and Haru — and my sweet cat, Chai. They’ve brought more comfort than words ever could.

I’ve lived many lives in one. A two-time national figure skating champion. A student of Human Biology and Neuroscience. An Emergency Medical Technician. Fluent in English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and now learning more. Miss Universe Japan 2024. I’ve stood under stage lights, and I’ve stood in hospital rooms. I’ve spoken in classrooms across Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the U.S., advocating for health, CPR education, and children’s futures. And through it all, I’ve stayed grounded in one dream — to live a life of quiet impact, with a beautiful family and with purpose.

I live simply, and I love deeply. My three closest friends mean the world to me. I like staying home. I like long talks, deep thoughts, and living intentionally. I love learning and I realized that there's still a lot for me to learn and grow as an individual. I believe happiness isn’t found in grand moments, but in the still ones — when you’re surrounded by love and finally feel like yourself and things are coming together.

This blog isn’t about fame or perfection. It’s about legacy. It’s about being remembered the way I lived: sincerely. And if you’ve found your way here, I hope these words remind you that your own story matters too.

Thank you for reading mine.

Always with love,

Kaya
